Wildcats Fall to Miami at WBCA Showcase

ORLANDO, Fla. – Miami used a fourth-quarter run to pull away from Davidson 66-58 in women's basketball action Thursday on the first night of the WBCA Showcase.
Charlise Dunn led the way for the Wildcats, scoring 14 points on 6-for-17 shooting, including five rebounds and two steals. Ines Garcia Monje notched the second double-digit scoring night of her young career with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Davidson got off to a solid start, leading the Hurricanes 17-10 after the first quarter and connecting on 44.4 percent of its shots and forcing six turnovers.
The Wildcats kept up their hot shooting in the second frame, scoring 14 points on 40 percent from the field, but Miami caught fire, shooting 66.6 percent, to retake the lead before halftime.
The 'Canes continued to light it up in the second half, shooting 50 percent from the floor and capitalized on a poor free-throw shooting night from the Wildcats to push their lead to as much as 10 points.
Gal Raviv and Ra Shaya Kyle combined for 39 points for the Hurricanes, with Raviv leading the way with 22 points. Kyle tallied a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double.
