Wildcats Blank Johnson & Wales, Earn Fourth Straight Shutout

DAVIDSON, NC – The Davidson men's soccer team continued their winning ways with their fourth straight clean sheet victory, a 2-0 blanking of Johnson and Wales on Senior Night at Alumni Stadium.
The win continues a historic winning streak for the Wildcats, who are the second team in program history to have a four-game winning streak without allowing a goal. The last team to accomplish this feat was the 1980 team, who won five shutouts in-a-row. The 'Cats improved to 6-5-2, matching their win total from last season.
Freshman JP Ramos Mora opened the scoring in the third minute of play, marking his first collegiate goal. Baylen Young and Jack Brown maneuvered the ball around the Johnson and Wales box, before Brown hit Ramos Mora with a pass from the near side for the score.
Johnson and Wales played solid defense against Davidson after the early score, defending 20 shots over the course of the game with Jackson Aker making six saves for the away team.
The 'Cats were able to break through in the 67th minute as Baylen Young laid out a cross to Myles Cully, who buried his shot for a two-goal cushion. Young's second assist marked the third game this season the senior has tallied multiple assists. He leads the team six assists on the year while Culley leads the team with four goals.
Ramos Mora led the team with four shots on the night, while Young and Noah Louzan accounted for three each. Senior Jack Burden and Carson Pridie split time in net for the Wildcats with Pridie making the only two saves for Davidson.
