Wildcats Extend Streak to Five Games, Defeat Presbyterian 2-0

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's soccer team extended their winning streak to five games, their longest since 2017, while matching a program-record fifth straight clean sheet victory, shutting out Presbyterian 2-0 Tuesday night at Alumni Stadium.
With the win, the 'Cats improved their record to 7-5-2 while the Blue Hoes fall to 5-6-5 after the non-conference loss.
The Wildcats have not had a longer winning streak since 2009 when they won six straight games. They also tied the record set by the 1980 team who won their first five games of the season without allowing a goal.
Davidson's defense was stellar once again, allowing only one shot on goal in the 75th minute that was stopped by Lucas Beltran. Alonzo Clarke and Ayman Maadir played the full 90 minutes as backline defenders for the 'Cats.
Myles Culley once again provided a park off the bench, scoring his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 37th minute. His curling left footed shot put the Wildcats up 1-0 going into the break and accounted for Culley's 12th points of the season.
In the 74th minute, a quick pass from Brady McGlone in the Blue Hose box led to a JP Ramos Mora goal, his second goal of the season. Ramos Mora has now scored in two straight games for Davidson.
Culley led the team with four shots, while Ramos Mora, McGlone, Noah Louzan and Ben Minikel-Lacocque each put up two shots.

The Wildcats return to Atlantic 10 action on Saturday, Oct. 25, hosting Duquesne at 6 p.m. in Alumni Stadium.
