Louzan's Goal Lifts Davidson Past St. Bonaventure, 1-0

DAVIDSON, N.C. — A 34th-minute strike from Noah Louzan proved to be the difference Saturday evening as Davidson earned a 1-0 men's soccer victory over St. Bonaventure at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats improved to 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play and 2-2-4 overall while recording their second shutout of the season. The Bonnies fell to 3-4-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
St. Bonaventure set the early pace, taking five shots within the first 25 minutes. Davidson controlled more possession later in the half, generating four shots on target.
Louzan scored his first goal of the season on a one-time strike off a free-kick cross from Arden Tobolski.
Physicality increased in the second half as both teams pressed for points. Davidson received four yellow cards, while St. Bonaventure was issued five, including a second yellow card in the 70th minute that gave the Wildcats a man advantage for the remainder of the match.
With the numerical advantage, the Wildcats created several opportunities to extend their lead but were unable to convert, sealing the 1-0 victory.
Patrick Ward led Davidson with three shots, and goalkeeper Lucas Beltran made three saves in net.
