Sheron Named CSC Academic All-America®

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Mason Sheron of the Davidson football team has been named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® second-team selection, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The junior running back becomes just the sixth Wildcat in program history to earn this distinction and the first since Kyle Kinsell in 2006.
A native of Leo, Ind., Sheron turned in his best season in a Wildcat uniform in 2024, ranking among Pioneer Football League running backs in yards (923/3rd), yards per carry (5.8/7th), touchdowns (10/3rd) and yards per game (83.9/3rd).
In addition, Sheron had three games with at least 100 yards on the ground, highlighted by a career-best 152 yards to go with a pair of touchdowns at Dayton.
To be eligible for CSC's Academic All-America program, student athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and participate in at least 90% or start in at least 66% of their team's games. All-Americans are voted on by the organization's membership from its All-District teams.
