Dunn’s Career Day Leads Wildcats to Win over Saint Louis

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Charlise Dunn scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Davidson defeated Saint Louis, 66-58, in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action Saturday inside John M. Belk Arena.
Winners of three of their last four, the Wildcats improve to 16-6 overall and 6-5 in league play.
Dunn, a sophomore from Victoria, Australia, finished 8-of-18 from the floor and 10-of-13 at the free-throw line, while playing the entire 40 minutes.
Fellow transfer and Australia native, Millie Prior also recorded a strong double-double for the 'Cats with 16 points and 10 boards, marking her fourth double-double of the season. Maddie Plank just missed a 10-point, 10-rebound effort of her own 9 and 8.
After Saint Louis (9-14, 4-6) used a 12-1 stretch to go back in front late in the third, the Wildcats responded once again, this time with the last seven points of the frame to take a 47-43 advantage into the final 10 minutes.
Davidson, which finished 27-of-32 at the charity stripe, carried the momentum in the fourth and pushed the margin to double digits, 56-45, on a 3-point play by Katie Donovan with 5:14 to play.
Tied 15-15 after the opening quarter, Davidson closed the first half on an 8-2 spurt to carry a 33-27 lead into the locker room.
Brooklyn Gray led the way for the Billikens with 15 points.
The Wildcats finished with a 36-32 edge on the boards, while limiting Saint Louis to just 35.5 percent from the floor.
