'Cats Look for Third Straight at Loyola Chicago

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's basketball team will look to extend their winning streak to three when it travels to play Loyola Chicago Sunday.

The Wildcats hold a 1-0 lead in the brief series history between them and the Ramblers. A season ago, Davidson earned a nail-biting 57-55 win over Loyola Chicago in Belk Arena.
Elle Sutphin led the 'Cats with a game-high 21 points while Suzi-Rose Deegan added on 16 points of her own and Tomisin Adenupe chipped in 10 in the close win.

Davidson earned a solid 66-58 team win against reigning Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis Feb. 3 inside John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats shot 43.2 percent from the floor while Charlise Dunn and Millie Prior both tallied double-doubles and combined for 43 points and 20 rebounds to lead the 'Cats past the Billikens.
THE DUO FROM DOWN UNDER…
Australia natives Dunn and Prior continue to put up large numbers for the Wildcats especially following last weekend's home win.
Dunn went for a career-high 27 points, which marked the second increase in her scoring career in the same week after tallying 22 on the road at St. Bonaventure. Additionally, Dunn tacked on 10 rebounds to complete her double-double effort. The sophomore was 8-of-18 from the floor and 10-of-13 from the foul line.
Prior earned her double-double by way of 16-point 10-rebound performance while shooting 6-of-10 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
HOME COURT HEROICS…
Davidson moves to an impressive 10-3 on its home court this season. The Wildcats have secured their sixth consecutive winning season at home from the 2018-19 campaign to the current 2023-14 season. With three home contests remaining in the regular season, the 'Cats are on track to record a new program-high of single-season home wins with the current lead being 12 from the 2011-12 season.
PICKING BACK UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF…
Davidson entered the bye-week in solid fashion having picked up their first set of back-to-back wins since defeating UNC Charlotte (12/21) and La Salle (1/2) consecutively. Earlier in the year, the 'Cats matched a program record winning streak of 10 games. Currently Davidson has started a new win streak and will look to extend it to three games with a win over the Ramblers.
CONFERENCE FIGURES…
As a team, the Wildcats are performing well in A-10 action. Currently in league games the Wildcats average 60.9 ppg and 32.1 rpg while shooting 42.4 from the floor and 74.4 from the foul line. Davidson continues to have strong starts to each half of play as they outscore their opponents by a +40 margin in the first quarter and +19 margin in the third quarter.
Pacing the 'Cats in conference play is Dunn with 14.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 16 blocks, 18 steals and 18 assists. Dunn has shot .439 from the floor and a team-high .882 from the charity stripe having missed only four free throws in A-10 action.
