Wildcats Compete at USC Indoor Open

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Thirteen Wildcats competed at the University of South Carolina's USC Indoor Open in Columbia on Saturday. Davidson's day was highlighted by four personal records set in the mile and a top-five finish by Jack Stajos in the shot put.
Eheman paced the 'Cats with a sixth-place finish in mile after he stopped the clock in a career-best time of 4:10.63. Eheman's time was the seventh-fastest in program history. Freshman John Cooper was next in line as he crossed the finish line in 4:13.17. Junior Grahm Breiter wasn't far behind as he clocked a 4:13.75, and Daniel Cortese ran a 4:19.26. All four times were personal bests.
Davidson also got top-10 finishes from Ryan Harris, Liam Maurillo, and Henry Griffith in the 800-meters. Harris led the way with a time of 1:56.73 to earn seventh while Maurillo ran a personal-best time of 1:57.82 to take ninth. Griffith notched a 1:57.89 to crack the top-10.
On the field side, senior Jack Stajos took fourth in the shot put with a season-best throw of 14.91 meters. It was the second-best indoor mark of Stajos' career behind his throw of 15.30m at last year's A-10 Championships. It also was the eighth-best throw in program history.

The Wildcats will next set their sights on the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Va. next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 23-24).
