Bynum Wins Gold at A-10 Indoors

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Isaac Bynum won the gold medal in the 60-meter hurdles to lead the Davidson men's track and field team at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Bynum, a senior from Frederick, Md. , came into the finals with the fastest qualifying time after crossing the line in 8.01 seconds yesterday. The fourth-year man edged VCU's Marcus Wilson by a hundredth of a second with a time of 8.13 to capture his first career A-10 gold. He also edged Rhode Island's Kai Schmidt Bilowith by .03 in a photo finish. Bynum took bronze in the 60 hurdles last season and was on last year's A-10 winning distance medley team.
Also medaling for the 'Cats was Jack Muldoon in the 1,000-meters. Muldoon clocked in at 2:27.51 to earn his first individual A-10 medal. Muldoon ran on both gold-medal-winning 4x800 and distance medley squads last year giving him his third career podium finish at the indoor championships. Grahm Breiter also gave Davidson a team point with a top-eight finish after running a 2:35.96.
Rounding out the day was Jack Stajos in the shot put with a fifth-place finish. Stajo's throw of 15.66 meters was a personal best, second furthest in program history, and put four points on the team scoreboard.
The Wildcats finished tied for ninth on the team leaderboard as Rhode Island captured the team title with 227 points.

Davidson will next set their sights on the outdoor season which starts on March 15 at UNC Charlotte.
