Men's Track & Field Open Outdoor Season at 49er Classic

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's track & field team will open its 2024 outdoor slate Friday at the 49er Classic hosted by cross-county rival Charlotte at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
The three-day event will begin Thursday morning with the heptathlon and decathlon followed by a full day of events both Friday (9 a.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.).
Coming off an indoor slate that featured an A-10 indoor title in the 60-meter hurdles, personal and school records, the Wildcats return from a two-week hiatus for the outdoor campaign.
Davidson's outdoor season will feature seven straight weekends of competition in preparation for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championships, which will take place May 4-5 in Fairfax, Va.
Four 'Cats are entered in this weekend's meet: Chinedu Okeke in the 200M, Jack Stajos in the shot put and discus, and Nick Masterman and Chris Thompson in the javelin.

Davidson will travel to Columbia, S.C., for the Weems Baskin Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina next Friday and Saturday.
