The women's tennis squad faces St. Bonaventure in the first round
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson women's tennis will compete at the Atlantic 10 Championships as the No. 4 seed, announced by the conference on Tuesday. The 'Cats will face the No. 13 seed, St. Bonaventure on Wednesday at 9 am EST. The #A10WTEN Championship Tournament is being held in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Campus.
"We are excited to compete tomorrow in the conference tournament," head coach Susanne Depka said. "We have been preparing like we have during the season. Take it a day at a time and match at a time. We will continue to stay in the present, be concerned about the things we can control and have fun."
The Wildcats finished the regular season with an overall 11-7 record, featuring a seven-match win streak and a 4-2 conference record. Two of the 'Cats most notable wins were over Richmond and Elon.
The last time Davidson has faced off against St. Bonaventure was the A-10 Tournament in 2017, also in the first round. The 'Cats took that match, shutting the Bonnies out, 4-0.
St. Bonaventure closed out their 2021-22 regular season with a 5-14 record and registering a record of 0-5 in conference matchups. The Bonnies picked up wins against Binghamton, Mercyhurst, Siena, Niagara and Colgate.
