'Cats Blank Bonnies 4-0, Advance in #A10WTEN Tournament

DAVIDSON, N.C. - No. 4 seed Davidson women's tennis shutout No. 13 St. Bonaventure 4-0 in the first round of the #A10WTEN Championship Tournament Wednesday morning. The 'Cats will advance to the second round match to be played Thurs., April 28 at 11:30 a.m. EST against St. Joseph's.
The Wildcats secured the doubles point after the duo of seniors Mira Gladstone and Elizabeth Truluck and the pairing of Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea both took down their opponents by a score of 6-2.
Shea was the first to finish her singles match on Court 5, giving the 'Cats a 2-0 lead after her 6-0, 6-2 victory. Daniela Porges extended Davidson's lead to 3-0 taking down her opponent in a 6-2, 6-3 fashion before junior Josie Schaffer secured the match on Court 1 with her 7-6(5), 6-2 win.
The No 12. Hawks defeated Dayton on Wednesday, in a close fought 4-3 battle.
