
‘Cats Conclude A10 Masters and Jimmy Powell Invite at Elon

DAVIDSON, N.C. / ELON, N.C. – Highlighted by Charlotte Calderwood's run to the semifinals of the A10 Conference Masters, the Davidson women's tennis team wrapped up play Saturday, which included select players competing against a challenging field at the Jimmy Powell Invite hosted by Elon.
Calderwood, who advanced to day two of the A10 Masters with wins over Ellen Katzer of Rhode Island and Duquesne's Mila Badics Friday, the senior fell to Richmond's Sofia Maria Barbulescu, 6-1, 7-6 (4), Saturday morning.

Those not taking part in the A10 Conference Masters, represented the Davidson women's tennis team at the Jimmy Powell Invite hosted by Elon Friday and Saturday.
In addition to the Wildcats and host Phoenix, the challenging tournament field also included East Carolina, James Madison and VCU.
On Friday, play was highlighted by a singles win from freshman Teagan Reilly over ECU's Lilly Lancaster, 6-3, 6-2, and doubles victory by the duo of Keri Rothenberg and Lilly Dwyer.
The freshman tandem of Jazel Mangones and Avery Combs also picked up a doubles win for the Wildcats on Saturday morning.

Following a two-week break, Davidson will return to the courts at the Carolina Regional Tournament Oct. 15-18 in Columbia, S.C.
