Wildcats Play Duquesne to 1-1 Draw

PITTSBURGH — Davidson and Duquesne, two teams with identical Atlantic 10 records, played to a 1-1 draw in women's soccer Sunday afternoon.
The tie moves the Wildcats to 10-2-3 overall and 3-2-2 in A-10 play. Duquesne moved to 5-5-2 overall.
"It's good to come back with a point because all points are valuable," said coach Adam Denton.
Sophia Caruso's goal in the 29th minute, off a Hailey Braemer corner kick, gave the Wildcats the 1-0 lead they held at the intermission.
"Great corner by Hailey and a great header by Sophia," said Denton.
Duquesne evened the score in the 47th minute with a goal from Jaimi Araujo, and the teams were even from there.
Davidson finished with a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks, while Duquesne had an 11-9 shots edge. Both teams finished with three shots-on-goal, including two by Caruso and one by Braemer.

The Wildcats return home to play their next two, starting with Fordham on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in Alumni Stadium.
