RICHMOND, Va. – Kellan Grady scored a season-high 32 points and Davidson tied a tournament record with 17 3-pointers as the Wildcats cruised past George Mason, 99-67, in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship, Friday at the Robins Center.
The 'Cats, who have reached the semifinals in each of their Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances since joining the league in 2014, will play second-seeded VCU Saturday at 9 p.m.
The two teams met a week ago in Belk Arena with Davidson holding off the Rams, 65-57.
A senior from Boston, Mass., Grady finished 10-of-16 from the floor and a perfect 8-for-8 at the charity stripe en route to his sixth career 30-point effort.
The three-time all-conference performer was joined in double figures by backcourt mate Hyunjung Lee (20), Luka Brajkovic (17) and Bates Jones (11).
Davidson (13-7) scored the game's first 10 points and extended the lead to 32-11 following a stretch in which it hit 10-of-11 from the floor.
Lee, who scored 17 in the first 20 minutes of action, was one of three Wildcats in double digits prior to intermission as they went to the half up, 49-32.
In addition to torching the nets for 59 percent, which included a 17-of-31 (.548) effort from deep, the Wildcats pushed the margin to as many as 36 late in the second half.
Jordan Miller and Javon Greene paced George Mason (13-9) with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
The Wildcats handed out 21 assists on 36 made field goals, while finishing with a 35-28 advantage on the glass.
