CEDARVILLE, OHIO. - The Davidson women's cross country team heads to the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course for the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championship hosted by the University of Dayton on Saturday.

Men's Race: 10 a.m. (8K)
Women's Race: 10:50 a.m. (5K)
SEASON REWIND
The Wildcats have competed in four events, placing fourth at the Elon Opener, third at the Adidas XC Challenge, Fifth at the Asics Invitational and Fourth at the Royals Challenge. Following a personal best at the Royals Challenge, freshman Abby Nasse was named the Rookie Performer of the Week.
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
Prior to the start of the 2021 campaign, the Wildcats were selected to finish eighth in the A-10 Women's Cross Country Poll. Frances Whitworth was named to the Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country All-Rookie Team. During the February XC Championship at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va., Whitworth led the Wildcats across the line with a 24th place finish. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native stopped the clock at 18:16.0.

2021 A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
The Davidson women's cross country team was the first to compete in an Atlantic 10 Championship this academic year when they toed the line at Pole Green Park Friday, Mar. 5.
The A-10 XC Championship happening a few months later than normal did not affect freshman Frances Whitworth who led the 'Cats across the line in her first collegiate championship race and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team. The Winston-Salem, N.C., product crossed the line in 24th place at 18:16.0. Whitworth led Davidson in both races this season.
Davidson sophomore and 2019 A-10 All-Rookie runner Natalie Abernathy was next into the finishing chute at 26th, stopping the clock at 18:22.1. The Wildcats placed ninth as a team with 198 points. Duquesne (92) edged Dayton (94) for the team title, while Rhode Island's Lotte Black took the individual title.

Davidson will head to Lexington, Ky. for the NCAA Southeast Regional Meet hosted by the University of Kentucky on Nov. 12. at "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
