Swimming Hosts Gardner-Webb for Senior Day Friday

The Davidson swimming and diving teams will host Gardner-Webb at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Cannon Pool.
It's the Wildcats' final home meet of the season, and the teams' last full event prior to the Atlantic 10 Championships, which are set for Feb. 19-22 at the SPIRE Institute in Ohio (Davidson's divers will compete at James Madison next weekend).
Prior to Friday's competition, Davidson will recognize the members of the 2020 graduating class.
The women's team has six seniors: Emily Bassett, Helen Duffy, Alexis LeMone, Isabella McElrath, Frances Resweber and Olivia Stanley.
The men's team has eight seniors: Crossan Cooper, Tristan Cummings, Walter Dauksher, Ian Hentenaar, Brian Hynes, Patrick Kelly, Alex Strasser and Griffen Younger.
In their last outing, the Wildcats swam at William & Mary on Jan. 18 and won nine events.
Sarah Helen Shepherd won the 100-yard breaststroke, 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley en route to her second A-10 Performer of the Week honor of the season. Shelby Stanley swept the 100 and 200 butterfly events to earn her third A-10 Rookie of the Week honor, and Abby Francis touched the wall first in the 50 and 200 freestyles.
Dauksher and Cooper provided wins for the Davidson men in the 200 free and 200 IM, respectively.
