Senior Swimmer Will Compete at NCAAs Next Month at Georgia Tech
ATHENS, Ga. — Given one final chance at multi-event NCAA qualification, Davidson swimmer Dylan Felt made the most of his opportunity Saturday.
Already in next month's NCAA field in the 200 freestyle, Felt added an NCAA cut in the 500 free at the Bulldog Invitational NCAA Qualifying Meet at the University of Georgia.
Felt will now compete in both the 200 and 500 free at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga., March 25-28. He's the first Wildcat swimmer to qualify for NCAAs since Elise Lankiewicz in 2017, and he's the second men's swimmer in program history to reach NCAAs, joining Drew Onken (2012).
A senior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Felt earned his 500 cut with a swim of 4:17.36 on Saturday, besting the mark of 4:18.07.
He qualified for the 200 free during last week's Atlantic 10 Conference Championships with a winning time of 1:33.46.
Felt concluded the A-10 portion of his career with three more medals this year, taking his total to 15 medals, including nine individual golds and four straight 500 free A-10 titles. He owns all six of the program's freestyle records from the 50 to the 1,650 and is a two-time A-10 Most Outstanding Performer.
At NCAAs, the 200 free competition is set for Thursday, March 26, while the 500 free will be held the next day.
