PORTLAND, Ore. – Davidson concluded its trip to the West Coast with a 6-0 setback at Portland Sunday evening on Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 1-2-0, while the Pilots move to 2-1-1.
Portland wasted little time grabbing the early advantage as Luke Hendel converted a penalty kick 2:26 into the contest.
The Pilots also got first-half strikes from Gio Magana-Rivera (13') and Alejandra Pereira (41') to push the margin to 3-0 at the break.
Jacobo Reyes and Brian O'Hara scored goals three minutes apart midway through the second period to put the game out of reach.
Portland is the second of four-straight opponents for the Wildcats that advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
