CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State netted a pair of second-half goals to get by Davidson, 2-0, in non-conference men's soccer action Friday evening on Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Valley Stadium.
With the win, the Beavers move to 2-1-0 on the young campaign, while the 'Cats fall to 1-1-0.
At the 63:08 mark, Kolade Salaudeen broke the scoreless tie for Oregon State, which was an NCAA Tournament team from a year ago.
The eventual game-winner was set up by Arnaud Daniel and Adrian Crespo.
Crespo, who has assisted on four of the Beavers' five scores this season, put the game out of reach in the 88th minute with his first goal of 2019.
Davidson's Sawyer Gaffney led both keepers with five saves.
Despite the setback, the Wildcats finished with a 10-8 edge in corners.
