'Cats Host 49ers in Cross-County Matchup Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Closing out its home non-conference slate, the Davidson women's basketball team will play its annual cross-county game by hosting Charlotte Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. inside John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats (7-4), who are riding a three-game home winning streak, have been off for final exams since playing at Columbia, Dec. 9. Their three wins this year at home have come against Georgetown, Western Carolina and Newberry.
Charlotte comes into Saturday's game with a 7-2 record and won its latest contest, an Education Day game against Delaware on Tuesday, 61-57.
GAME PROMOTION ...
Saturday's game is Davidson's "Happy Holidays" game and the first 75 fans will receive a Mystery Bag Giveaway. Fans can pick up there Mystery Bag from Santa in the Brickhouse Above the Rim Concourse at the game. Santa will be available to take picture through halftime! There will also be a post-game autograph session with the team.
Saturday is also "Dream Big Basketball Day", all players wearing their Dream Big Jersey or T-Shirt will receive FREE admission to the game.

•Down 63-57, the 'Cats got to within three after a Deegan triple with four seconds remaining, but their last-second trey to force overtime fell short after getting one final attempt off a Lions' turnover.

•Katie Turner continues to climb up in the Wildcats' all-time records, with Turner closing in on 1,000 career points (846) while sitting in sixth in threes (160) and 12th in assists (286). Donovan just crossed the 500-rebound mark (522) and is 22 away from reaching 15th all-time.
•Ally Welling is 11th in career blocks with 74 and is six away from moving up to 10th.

•As of Dec. 17 in the A-10, the 'Cats rank- 2nd in field goals (292) and rebounds (439) as well as assists (165), and 3rd in scoring (71.4) and field goal percentage (.432).
