Wildcats Fall at Preseason Favorites in 108th Minute

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU's Biska Biyombo netted a pair of goals, including one in the 108th minute, to lift the preseason favorites over Davidson, 2-1 (2OT) in Atlantic 10 men's soccer action Saturday evening at SportsBacker Stadium.
With the loss, the 'Cats fall to 1-6-2 overall and 0-2-0 in league play, while the Rams improve to 4-5-1 and 3-0-0.
Biyombo's golden goal came after the Wildcats threatened with a number of chances in the extra sessions.
Trailing 1-0 for a majority of the contest, Davidson's Jamie DiLuzio provided the equalizer and forced overtime when he converted his second penalty kick of the season at the 82:18 mark.
Biyombo put his club in front in the 17th minute on a goal assisted by Austin Graham and Fortia Munts.
VCU finished with a 14-13 edge in shots and slim 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
