DAVIDSON, N.C. – Sophomore Henry Howell netted a goal in each half to lift Davidson to a 2-1 Atlantic 10 win over St. Bonaventure in men's soccer action Wednesday evening at Alumni Stadium.

In addition to picking up three points in the conference standings, the Wildcats improve to 3-9-2 overall and 2-4-0 in the league, while the Bonnies fall to 4-10-0 and 1-5-0.

Coming off an impressive 3-0 blanking of George Mason, St. Bonaventure grabbed the early advantage when Jacob Dyck put the Bonnies up 1-0 with a goal at the 6:39 mark.

Davidson, which held a 16-13 advantage in shots, evened the score in the 39th minute when Jamie DiLuzio tracked down a service in the box and laid it off to Howell, who finished it for his first goal of the season.

For DiLuzio, it was his team-leading fifth assist of the campaign.

After going to the break tied 1-1, the Wildcats took the lead for good on their first scoring opportunity of the second half. The difference maker came when Howell beat his defender to the end line and put away a shot at a tight angle.

Charlie Caswell set up the 2019 all-rookie performer's second goal of the night and eventual game-winner.

Both Caswell and Hugh Chatham had second-half chances for Davidson but were unable to add an insurance goal.

Sawyer Gaffney was impressive in goal for the 'Cats, especially late with a couple big saves to preserve the win as the 'Cats were a man down.
