Comments from head coach Adam Denton
"It was a tough battle on the road today and we are disappointed with the loss. We had good spells in the game, but lacked a little cutting edge at key moments. The goal came late in the game and we made some adjustments to get the goal back, but we did not create enough to eventually get it back. We knew it was going to be a tough battle between two good teams and tight game. Now we have to recover and focus on getting a positive result on the road against a very tough La Salle Sunday.
Quick Hits From the Game:
•The game-winner came at the 81:40 mark from Bonavita, her seventh goal of the season.
•The first half was scoreless, with Davidson setting the tone and controlling possession by firing off seven shots and putting four of them on goal.
•It was held to two shots though in the second half, while UMass had six and finished with a 10-9 edge on shots overall.
•Gretchen Pearson had a team-best three shots, putting two of those on target.
•The Wildcats won the corner battle, 4-3.
•Goalkeeper Mary Grace Bunch had her second game with a season-high five saves and has allowed just two goals in her eight games played this year.
