Wildcats Battle Former League Rival to 1-1 Draw

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The game's only scoring came a minute apart as former league rivals Davidson and UNCG battled to a 1-1 (2OT) draw, in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday evening at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats, who played a man down due to a red card the final 28:40 of the contest, move to 1-5-2 overall, while the Spartans are now 2-6-1.
After threatening with a couple early chances, Davidson grabbed a 1-0 advantage on Hugh Chatham's first strike of 2019, which was set up by Jamie DiLuzio's through ball.
UNCG answered a minute later when Casey Penland put away a loose ball following a Spartan corner kick.
The Wildcats' Sawyer Gaffney was impressive in goal, especially late, turning away a game-high four shots.

Davidson will resume A-10 play Saturday night when it travels to VCU for a 7 p.m. match.
