McElrath Leads Wildcat Women vs. Richmond

RICHMOND, VA. – Isabella McElrath swam out front in the butterfly events to lead Davidson against Richmond Friday night in the first day of competition at the two-day Richmond Duals.
McElrath won the 100-yard fly with a time of 57.74 and also defeated Richmond in the 200 fly (2:08.83).
"Isabella was great in both butterflies," said Davidson coach John Young.
Wildcat Anna Montgomery swam a personal best (18:30.07) in the 1,650 freestyle, and Young said Maggie Farrell turned in "great in-season swims" in the 100 free (54.60) and 200 free (1:56.95).
Richmond finished with a 173-112 advantage in team scoring, and Davidson will swim against George Mason Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
"We ran into a talented Richmond team tonight, and they used their versatility to neutralize most of our strengths," said Young. "I'm excited to see how the women bounce back against Mason in the morning"
The Patriots fell 184-115 to Duquesne Friday in Richmond.
