Divers Enter NCAA Zones on Monday

Davidson divers Elle Jacobsen and Annica Valmassei will compete in the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships Monday and Tuesday at Auburn University.

The Wildcats will compete against divers from across the Southeast, with all vying for spots at the NCAA Championships.
Â
A senior, Valmassei is the Atlantic 10 champion in the 3-meter event. Last month, she secured her second gold medal in the event (also 2022) with a score of 303.15. She also placed fifth in the A-10 in the 1M.

Jacobsen, a sophomore, earned A-10 bronze in the 1M with a score of 271.60 and took sixth in the 3M. Â

The two also shined at the Bucknell Invitational in November. In a field of 30 divers, they finished 1-2 (Valmassei, Jacobsen) in the 3M and then 2-3 (Jacobsen, Valmassei) in the 1M.Â

"They both have had tremendous success this season," said Davidson diving coach Greg Ferrucci. "The dedication and hard work they put in at practice paid off. The zone meet is another chance to display their fierce competitive nature and passion to perform."
