Women's Swimming Opens Season at Queens

UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Sarah Coats led the Wildcats in their 2017-18 debut, as the Davidson women's swim team opened up action in a tri-meet with three-time defending Division II national champions Queens, and defending Atlantic 10 Champions Richmond.
Coats recorded second in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.03) and third in the 50 breast (30.25). Sophomore Isabella McElrath placed third in the 100 butterfly, registering a time of 58.32. Classmate Olivia Stanley took second in the 50 fly (26.99).
The quartet of sophomore Alexis LeMone, Stanley, freshman Anna Linzell, and senior Elizabeth Weldon rounded out the Top Three finishes, coming in second in the 200 free relay (1:40.89).
The men's fleet will begin their season Saturday, hosting Queens in a dual meet at Cannon Natatorium on campus.
