DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson field hockey (2-10, 0-3 A-10) wraps up their five-game homestand this weekend with a pair of Atlantic 10 opponents. The Wildcats welcome Saint Francis Friday at 6:00 p.m., and conclude with Lock Haven Sunday at 1:00 p.m., both at Belk Turf Field.
Davidson ranks in the Top 10 in the league in multiple categories; seniors Becca Jones and Katherine English sit fourth and seventh, respectively, in shots (33, 26), classmate Anne Federico is eighth in total points (12) and tied for tenth in assists (4), while sophomore Courtney Byler's five assists put her fifth in the same category. Byler tops the conference with three defensive saves, while fellow defender Anna Brewer is right behind her with two. Keeper Bean Rodriguez ranks fifth with 52 saves on the season.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats suffered their second shutout of the season Tuesday, falling 6-0 to No. 2 North Carolina. Rodriguez notched five saves, while rookie keeper Sarah Zeszotarski made the longest appearance of her career, playing the entire second half and registering two saves, coming off back-to-back shots. The 'Cats other shutout also came against a ranked opponent in then-No. 11 Wake Forest.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis enters Friday with a 7-5 record, but is 1-2 in A-10 action- their win coming over Lock Haven last weekend. A pair of returners lead the Red Flash offensively, with sophomore Brea Seabrook and junior Shannon Pereira each boasting 11 points on the year. Seabrook leads with five goals, while Pereira carries a team-high five assists. Sophomore Elizabeth Dyer has logged every minute for SFU in goal this season, collecting 59 saves and a .747 save percentage. The Red Flash was selected to finish sixth in the A-10 Preseason Poll.
SCOUTING THE BALD EAGLES
Lock Haven, picked to finish in a tie for fourth this season with Davidson, boasts a 6-4 overall record and is 3-2 in conference play. The team is coming off a huge 7-0 victory against league foe Saint Louis, and will face Appalachian State on Friday before taking on the 'Cats Sunday. Senior midfielder Lydia George carries a team-high 14 points into the weekend, but junior Michelle Enck and sophomore Dana-Lee de Gannes lead the squad with five goals apiece. Likely to get the start in the cage for the Bald Eagles is senior Paige Stuppy, who has 38 saves.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats will travel north next weekend, facing last year's A-10 tournament champs Massachusetts on Friday, before a non-conference clash Sunday at Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y.
