DAVIDSON, N.C. — Playing their second nationally ranked team of the season, the Davidson women's basketball team will travel to Washington, D.C., to face No. 23/24 George Washington Thursday at 11 a.m. as part of the Colonials' Education Field Day.
The game will be televised by American Sports Network with a list of the affiliates picking the game up below.
Earlier this year, the Wildcats faced No. 21/24 Rutgers on the road. This is the second time in the past three seasons they will have faced a pair of ranked teams in the same year. The 'Cats took on No. 13 Tennessee and No. 23 Miami during the 2012-13 season.
This will be the first time both programs have faced each other. Davidson (5-17, 1-8 A-10) begins a stretch of playing five of its final seven regular season games on the road. GW (19-2) continues to lead the Atlantic 10 with a perfect 8-0 record, while it is riding a 17-game win streak, which is the fifth-longest active streak in the nation. The streak is also the third longest in the Colonials' history as they moved into the national rankings for the first time this year Monday.
Freshman Mackenzie Latt won her second A-10 Rookie of the Week honor on Monday after averaging a double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds) last week in games at home against Fordham and Saint Joseph's.
After facing the Colonials Thursday, Davidson turns around and will take on George Mason Sunday in Fairfax, Va., at 2 p.m.
