Saturday's Game
• Davidson and Stetson will both be battling for their first Pioneer Football League wins of the season when they take the field Saturday at 3 p.m. in Spec Martin Memorial Stadium.
• Stetson is fielding a football team for the first time in 57 years. Davidson hosted Stetson in its final season of football in 1956.
• Davidson is playing its final road game of the season. After a bye week, the 'Cats will conclude the season at Richardson Stadium Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. hosting Campbell for Senior Day.
• Sophomore WR William Morris has 945 yards receiving this season to rank fifth in the nation and tops in the PFL. He is on pace to break the single season and career receiving yards records.
• A Davidson win would end a 10-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Series Record
victory over the Wildcats in Davidson, but the two teams did not meet again for another 42 years. Davidson and Stetson played in three straight seasons from 1954-56 with Davidson winning all three.
• Davidson's lone visit to Stetson and Spec Martin Memorial Stadium, which has undergone significant renovations since, was in 1955 - a 25-13 win for the Wildcats.
• Stetson played just four more games following its defeat at Davidson in 1956, thus this will be just the 13th game the the Hatters have played since.
• Dave Fagg led the 'Cats to victory in the 1956 game and was named the "Wildcat of the Week" by The Davidsonian. He went on to coach Davidson and earn the school's Hendrix Award as a distinguished footbal alumnus.
Scouting Stetson
• Stetson's lone win this season came in the season opener against Warner, a first-yeat NAIA program that has gone winless.
• Stetson nearly scored its first PFL win last week against Campbell, but was unable to hold on to an 18-7 lead with 5:12 remaining in the game.
• The Hatters are last in the league in total offense averaging just 270.1 yards per game, which is 61.1 yards less than 11th-ranked Davidson. However, they rank sixth in total defense, whereas Davidson ranks 11th. Stetson's pass defense ranks 28th nationally and second in the conference, and its red zone defense is 12th nationally and second in the conference.
• Chris Atkins leads the PFL with four interceptions. and ranks second in the league with 1.3 passes defended per game. Teammate Donald Payne leads the league with 1.4 passes defended per game, and is 13th nationally and third in the league with 10.6 tackles per game.

Jonathan Carkhuff Rewrites the Record Books
• Carkhuff is Davidson's career leader in passing yards (10,466), attempts (1,670), completions (1009) and completion percentage (60.4%). His completion and attempts totals are also PFL records.
• He became the first Davidson quarterback to pass for 10,000 yards in a career vs. Drake on Oct. 12, 2013.
• He became the first Davidson or Pioneer Football League quarterback to complete 1,000 passes in a career vs. Mercer on Nov. 2, 2013.
• He leads all active FCS players in career pass attempts and completions and ranks third in both in all of NCAA football. He also is ranked fifth among FCS' active career passing yards leaders and 13th in the NCAA.
• Carkhuff holds the single-game records for most passing yards (459), most completions (41), completion percentage (78.7%) and longest touchdown pass (99).
• He also holds the season records for most completions (348), passing attempts (556 - also a PFL record), passing yards (3,326) and completion percentage (62.6%).
• Of the 17 350+ passing yard games in Davidson history, Carkhuff has eight.
• He is working in his third offensive system in four years
Three-Pronged Attack
• Davidson has used three quarterbacks with regularity.
• Carkhuff has platooned with freshman John Cook, who runs a read-option package.
• Junior transfer J.P. Douglas has finished a pair of games, taking over in the fourth quarter vs. Marist (10/19) and taking over towards the end of the second quarter at Jacksonville (10/26). He also played the second quarter against Mercer last week.
Return of Mr. Rogers
• Sophomore RB David Rogers made his season debut vs. Marist after getting hurt in preseason camp, but posted the two best rushing performances of his career after seeing action late in the 2012 season as a freshman.
• He totaled 66 yards on 10 carries vs. Marist, which was a career-best effort, but then topped that at Jacksonville with a 96-yard effort on 20 carries and his first career touchdown.
• He totaled 130 yards vs. Mercer, running for 71 on 13 carries, catching five passes for 52 yards and a touchdown, and then throwing a seven-yard touchdown pass.
Youth Movement
• Of the 56 slots on the 2-deep, 30 are occupied by underclassmen, including 11 in first-team roles.
• The defensive side of the chart is the youngest with 17 of 28 slots occupied by underclassmen.
PFL and NCAA FCS Leaders
• QB Jonathan Carkhuff is sixth in the PFL and 29th in the country with 1,987 yards this season.
• WR William Morris leads the league and ranks fifth in the FCS with 945 receiving yards. He also ranks second in the league and 13th in the country with 6.7 receptions per game.
• LB Matt Casey ranks fifth in the PFL and 26th in FCS with 9.8 tackles per game.
