GREENVILLE, S.C. – De'Mon Brooks scored 19 points, and the Davidson defense held Furman to three field goals for the last 14 minutes of the contest to post a 71-53 Southern Conference men's basketball victory over the Paladins Wednesday night in Timmons Arena.

The Wildcat defense clamped down in the last 14 minutes of the game and gave up just three field goals.
Furman could only cut the lead to 11 inside the last few minutes and elected to foul with 1:57 to go. Cochran and Cohen combined to go 6-for-6 from the line the rest of the way to seal the win.
Leading 20-19, the Wildcats went on a 14-2 run to open up some breathing room. Cochran scored five points during the stretch, and the 'Cats took a 34-21 lead on his two free throws with 3:11 left in the half. Furman shot 9-of-25 from the field and committed nine turnovers in the stanza.
The Wildcats return home to face Chattanooga in their next contest. That game is set for a 4 p.m. tipoff Saturday in Belk Arena.
