DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's soccer team returns home after a three-game trip to take on College of Charleston in Southern Conference action Sunday at Alumni Stadium.

The Matchup
Winners of two of their last three league games, the Wildcats will host College of Charleston Sunday at 2 p.m. seeking their fourth SoCon win.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
The Wildcats lead the series against CofC, 11-6, since both schools first met each other in 1993. Last year saw Davidson drop a hard-fought 3-2 decision after coming back from a 2-0 deficit. The 'Cats have won the last three meetings at home.

Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson (5-6-2, 3-2 SoCon) finished up a three-game road swing Thursday at The Citadel with a 2-1 victory ... Rachael Newmister and Lauren Swany scored a goal each in the win ... Swany's header off a corner kick from Rachel Stelter proved to be the game-winner ... it was the junior's first career goal ... Stelter tallied her second assist and sixth of her career ... Davidson improved to 11-1 all-time vs. The Citadel ... Newmister paces the team with three goals, two assists and eight points ... goalkeeper Rachel Locke earned the win vs. the Bulldogs, running her record to 4-5-2 ... she has started 12 of the 13 games and registered 50 saves and four shutouts (2nd-most in SoCon) ... #Julia?Singley has two goals and an assist for five points ... Stephanie Piperno#'s 41 shots are fourth-most in the SoCon ... in last year's 3-2 setback at CofC, Becca Fisher had a goal and assist to bring the 'Cats back from a 2-0 deficit, but it was not enough ... the Wildcats return 23 of its 29 letterwinners, including nine starters, from last year's 9-9-2 squad ... Fisher, the reigning SoCon Freshman of the Year, was a preseason All-SoCon pick ... Davidson was picked to finish fifth in the SoCon preseason poll after sporting a 7-4 record last year and finishing fourth overall ... head coach Greg Ashton is seven wins away from reach 100 for his career at Davidson.

Scouting the Cougars
College of Charleston (3-8-1, 2-2-1 SoCon) also played on Thursday, going into double-overtime with Ga. Southern and tying 1-1 ... Nicole Koretsky scored CofC's goal ... Sarah Cardamone leads the Cougars with three goals, four assists and 10 points ... she's sixth in the league in points ... Sarah Schaidle is second on the team with six points (2 goals, two assists) ... Schaidle is a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award ... Taylor Avery and Eli Sarasola have started eight and four games, respectively, in goal ... Avery has 26 saves, while Sarasola has stopped 18 shots ... CofC's three wins have come against Furman, Wofford and Charleston Southern ... the Cougars sit at 0-4 on the road ... CofC returns 15 letterwinners from last year's runner-up squad in the SoCon finals ... the Cougars were picked second in the SoCon coaches preseason poll ... head coach Christian Michner enters his third season with 25 wins at CofC.
