Layup Line
• Davidson returns to action after six days off by hosting Penn in Belk Arena.
• The Wildcats have not played a home game since Dec. 7.
• Davidson is coming off a 73-65 loss at UMass Dec. 22, in the final contest of a three-game road stretch.
• The 'Cats have won 28 of their last 31 against non-conference competition at Belk Arena and are 36-6 since 2003. Davidson is 4-1 in Belk Arena this season.
• The Wildcats are 17-7 in their last 24 games, dating back to last season.
• Davidson returns seven of its top eight scorers and four starters from last season. Players who accounted for 81 percent of the team's scoring and 87 percent of the team's rebounding are back in uniform this year.
JP Kuhlman and Jake Cohen were selected preseason All-SoCon by the league's coaches. Both players have been starters for the bulk of their careers.
• Kuhlman is 40 points away from 1,000 for his career, and Cohen is 58 points shy.
• The 'Cats, who have posted nine straight winning seasons, were picked to win the SoCon South Division in the league's Coaches and Media Polls.
• Penn is coming off an 84-71 home win over Marist Dec. 23. The Quakers are 3-2 in their last five with the losses coming at Villanova and at UCLA.
• Penn is 2-2 on the road this season.
• Penn was picked fourth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll behind Harvard, Yale and Princeton.

Series History
• The all-time series, which began in 1956, is tied 5-5 after Penn topped Davidson 69-64 in last season's opener.
• The Wildcats have won three of the last four, two of which have gone into overtime.
• Quaker head coach Jerome Allen made his head coaching debut the last time the teams met in Belk Arena in 2009, a 79-50 Wildcat win.
• Four of the last five games in the series have been decided by five points or less.
Last Meeting: Jack Eggleston tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Zack Rosen scored 16 points in the second half to lead Penn to a 69-64 victory over visiting Davidson in The Palestra.
• Davidson placed four players in double figures in the scoring column, led by Clint Mann and Brendan McKillop, who each scored 12. Jake Cohen scored 10 points, and De'Mon Brooks netted 11 off the bench. Mann had seven rebounds, while McKillop and JP Kuhlman each recorded four assists.
• Quaker freshman Miles Cartwright scored 18 points off the bench in the first half as Rosen sat with foul trouble.
• The Wildcats trailed by one point with five minutes left after Jordan Downing hit a baseline jumper. But Rosen made a layup, and Eggleston drained a 3-pointer to push the margin to 63-57 with 2:20 left.
• After Kuhlman and Rosen traded free throws, Mann scored a layup with 1:06 left to make the score 64-60. After a timeout, Penn went to a spread offense to milk the clock, and Rob Belcore missed a layup but got his own rebound with 29 seconds left.
• Davidson was forced to foul, and Belcore missed both free throws. But the Quakers' Tyler Bernardini got the board and was fouled, where he made 1-of-2 from the line. Kuhlman hit a driving layup with 15 seconds left to make the margin three points, but Eggleston went 4-for-4 from the line the rest of the way to seal the win.
Last Time in Belk: Brendan McKillop netted a career-high 19 points to lead four Wildcats in double figures scoring as Davidson posted a 79-50 victory.
• McKillop was 6-for-9 from the floor, hit 5 3-pointers and tallied four assists and two steals for the Wildcats. Jake Cohen scored 10 points, and Ben Allison collected 10 points and six rebounds.
• Will Archambault tallied 10 points, five assists and eight rebounds, while Steve Rossiter had eight points and nine rebounds. Bryant Barr recorded nine points and four rebounds.
• Zack Rosen was the only scorer in double figures for the Quakers with 14 points to go along with four assists. Jack Eggleston posted nine points and eight rebounds.
• Davidson shot 56.3 percent from the field and nailed eight 3-pointers in the first half en route to opening a 46-19 halftime cushion. The Wildcats committed just four turnovers in the frame and held the Quakers to 7-of-24 shooting from the field.

Claw Marks
• By defeating Kansas 80-74 Dec. 19, the Wildcats defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since topping Wisconsin 73-56 in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
•  It was Davidson's first win over a ranked opponent in the regular season since defeating No. 15 South Carolina Jan. 12, 1974.
•  It was the 'Cats' first win over a ranked opponent on the road since defeating No. 17 St. John's 88-84 Jan. 4, 1972.
JP Kuhlman has been named to the Cousy Award watch list. The award is given annually to the nation's best point guard.
• The Wildcats rank third in the nation in team free-throw percentage (.801).
• Davidson has made 20 or more free throws in four games this season.
• Davidson hit all of its free throws (14-for-14) against Duke Nov. 18, for the first time since 2008 (Appalachian State, 6-for-6).
• The Wildcats have led at halftime in 10 games this season.
• Davidson did not give up a 3-pointer at UNCW Nov. 26 (0-for-3).

In-Season Honors
• Three different Wildcats have been named SoCon Player of the Week this season.
•  Nik Cochran earned the honor Dec. 20, after leading Davidson with 21 points in an 80-74 win over No. 12 Kansas. College Sports Madness also named him National Mid-Major Player of the Week and SoCon Player of the Week.
•  JP Kuhlman was named SoCon Player of the Week Nov. 29, after scoring 21 points to lead Davidson to a 70-67 victory at UNC Wilmington.
Jake Cohen was named SoCon Player of the Week Dec. 6, after averaging 21 points and six boards in a pair of league wins over Wofford and Furman.
De'Mon Brooks was named All-SoCon for the month of November by CollegeHoops.net. The sophomore has also been named to the CollegeHoops.net All-SoCon Team (Pre-league play edition).

Davidson Milestone Watch
Jake Cohen is 58 blocked shots away from breaking the school record. Frank Ben-Eze needs 25 to crack the top-10.
• Cohen needs 58 points for 1,000, and 177 rebounds to crack the top-20.
JP Kuhlman needs 40 points for 1,000.
