DAVIDSON, N.C. — Freshman Tori Krause (Cary, N.C.) sent Davidson to its second win of the season when she headed in a corner kick in the first half for her first career collegiate goal and the defense took care of the rest as the Wildcats scored a 1-0 shutout victory against visiting High Point on Sunday evening at Alumni Stadium in women's soccer non-conference action.

Davidson (2-1) picked up its seventh straight win in the all-time series against the Panthers (1-3) with the home win.

Krause took an Allison Drutchas (Bloomfield Hill, Mich.) corner kick from the near side of the field that was sent to the backend of the six-yard box and headed it perfectly to the near post in the sixth minute for the game-winner.

The Wildcats will now gear up for their first trip to the state of Texas in program history. They will play at nationally ranked Texas A&M (9th) on Friday night at 8 p.m. and then wrap up their trip with a 1 p.m. contest against Southern Methodist on Sunday.

GAME NOTES: Davidson is now 9-1-0 in the all-time series vs. High Point ... during the seven-game win streak in the all-time series, the 'Cats have outscored the Panthers, 13-4, while holding HPU scoreless now in the last four straight contests ... dated back to last Oct. 11, Davidson is 8-1-1 in regular season games ... Davidson now has two shutouts in the first three games of 2010, both coming at home ... the last time the 'Cats had two shutouts through the first three games was in 2000 ... tonight's win was head coach Greg Ashton's 75th while at Davidson (146th overall).
