
Cougars Escape With 4-3 Win over Wildcat W. Tennis

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's tennis defeated Davidson, 4-3, in Southern Conference tennis action at windy College of Charleston Tennis Center at Patriots Point on Sunday.
The Wildcats saw their four-match win streak halted, falling to 12-4 overall and suffered its first league loss to drop to 4-1. CofC improved to 17-2 and remained perfect in the SoCon at 5-0.
After Charleston swept the doubles point, the Cougars won three singles matches en route to their eighth consecutive win and their 14th win over the last 15 matches overall.
Teresa Wang (Charlotte, N.C.), Kelsey Linville (Columbus, Ohio) and Kim Whelan (Sewickley, Pa.) all scored singles wins for Davidson. Wang and Linville pushed their winning streaks to eight and five straight, respectively.
Seeing her 11-match win streak come to an end was Meredith Skeeters (Greensboro, N.C.), who dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision at No. 5.
The Wildcats will play at Elon on Apr. 2 at 3 p.m. for their next match.
