
'Cats Back on Winning Track, Take 5-2 Decision vs. Elon

ELON, N.C. - The Davidson women's tennis team got back on the winning track by earning their fifth Southern Conference win of the season with a 5-2 victory at Elon on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats ran their overall mark to 13-4, while Elon fell to 12-8 overall and an even 3-3 in league matches.
The four-some of senior Kim Whelan, junior Michele Fanney, sophomore Tresea Wang and freshman Alison Rauh led the way for Davidson as each player won their singles match, respectively, while teaming up as part of two of the three doubles teams to take home the 5-2 win.
Rauh earned her first singles win since Feb. 16 when she earned a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 5, while Wang continued her hot streak in winning her ninth straight match in singles play with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory over Whitney Butcher at No. 6.
Fanney teamed up with Wang for the 16th time this year to score their 10th doubles win of the season at No. 2, and then Rauh and Whelan improved to 2-1 in league double matches, 6-2 overall, with an 8-3 victory at No. 3.
The Wildcats return home for the first time since Mar. 21 for a 3 p.m. match against UNC Greensboro on Thursday, Apr. 3.
