Caitie Smith enters her third year with the Davidson Sports Information office for the 2018-19 school year.
She serves as the primary contact for baseball, swimming and diving, volleyball, and field hockey and assist with other day-to-day duties, such as graphic design and social media.
Prior to joining the Wildcats, Smith served as contact for the men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, and softball programs across the county at Charlotte. She also assisted as secondary contact for Charlotte's nationally ranked men's soccer team and served as media liasion during Charlotte's fifth-straight NCAA Appearance for men's soccer in 2015. She helped the 49ers transition in their first season as an FBS school, providing game day coverage via social media and other operations.
Before Charlotte, Smith spent 16 months as a graduate assistant in the sports information department at Marshall University where she earned her Master's of Science in Human Resource Management in May 2015. While with the Herd, Smith served as the primary contact for the baseball, volleyball, women's tennis, and women's track and field programs, also assisting with men's basketball and football.
Smith graduated summa cum laude from Marshall University in December 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism-Public Relations and minors in Marketing, Print Journalism, and Sports Management. While in undergrad, Smith spent two years working with the Marshall Athletics Marketing Department and another year working with Sports Information.
In addition to her work in college athletics, Smith holds seven years of experience working in minor league baseball, primarily with the West Virginia Power in Charleston, W.Va. While with the Power, she was a member of the Promotions Team, production staff, and served as a marketing assistant, where she coordinated over 300 hours of community service appearances for the team and had three members turn in over 50 hours of volunteer work during the four-month span.
Smith is a native of Cross Lanes, W.Va., and is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), National Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA), and North Carolina Sports Information Association (NCCSIA).
