DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson concluded its first conference weekend of the 2026 spring campaign with a 4-0 blanking of Saint Louis in women's tennis action Sunday.
The victory lifts the Wildcats to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Billikens fall to 6-8 and 1-1.
"We got better from Friday to today," commented Davidson head coach Susanne Depka. "If we continue to work through times of nerves and tension, we will continue to get better and be courageous in those moments. I'm proud of the team for how well they competed and stayed tough mentally through the entire weekend. Especially with it being our first conference matches."
The Wildcats earned the doubles point early with victories at the No. 3 and No. 2 positions. Keri Rothenberg and Olivia Hooper set the tone with a 6-1 win over Saint Louis' Aryn Walker and Naima Luthra, followed by Ellie Hammond and Charlotte Calderwood securing the point with a 6-4 decision.
In singles play, Davidson moved quickly to reach the four-point threshold. Calderwood was the first off the court at the No. 4 spot, cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 win against Luthra. Rothenberg followed shortly after at No. 5, defeating Elizabeth Choate 6-0, 6-2.
Bryson Langford provided the clinching point at No. 2 singles, defeating Fiorella Duran 6-2, 6-2.
With the match decided, remaining matches at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 6 were left unfinished once the team result was clinched.
Up Next
Davidson will wrap up its four-match homestand next weekend with a pair of A-10 contests, beginning with an 11 a.m. dual against Rhode Island Friday morning.
