DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson's women's basketball team is gearing up for a pivotal conference matchup against the George Mason Patriots at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Belk Arena.

Kyra Bruyndoncx scored a game-high 18 points and Charlise Dunn (17 pts, 12 rebs) added a double-double to lead Davidson past VCU, 66-51, in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action Saturday afternoon inside Belk Arena.
The Wildcats finished with a 42-27 advantage on the glass, including 18 offensive rebounds. Davidson's 7-2 start to Atlantic 10 play is their best since the 2018-19 season.
A sophomore from Mol, Belgium, Bruyndoncx finished 6-of-11 from the floor including five of her club's nine 3-pointers.
For Dunn, it was her eighth 10-point, 10-rebound effort of 2025-26. Katie Donovan also scored in double figures for the 'Cats with 15.
SERIES HISTORY
The two programs are tied in the all-time series at 8-8 and are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Wildcats hold a 6-1 record over the Patriots in Belk Arena.
In their last meeting, No. 2 seed George Mason eliminated Davidson in the A-10 tournament after Zahirah Walton's 16 points performance carried them to a 63-50 win in Henrico, V.a. Katie Donovan led Davidson with 16 points, while Charlise Dunn added 14.
The Wildcats upended the Patriots in Belk Arena during the 2024-25 regular season, defeating George Mason 66-50. Four Wildcats scored in double figures, led by Issy Morgan's 18 points.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Davidson has been at its best this season when playing in the confines of John M. Belk Arena, currently sitting at a 10-1 home record.
The 'Cats are outscoring its opponents by a sizable +192 margin including a +17.5 margin per game. The Wildcats are shooting .443 percent from the field, .371 percent beyond the arc and .716 percent at the charity stripe on Bob McKillop court this season.
Dunn (14.8 ppg), Donovan (12.9 ppg) and Bruyndoncx (12.2 ppg) pace the offense while Dunn (8.2 rpg), Garcia (4.6 rpg) and Strausz (4.5) lead the defense on their home court. Dunn (21), Donovan (24) and Bruyndoncx (27) have all recorded more than 20 three-point baskets this season at Belk.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
After her 17-point, 13-rebound performance on Saturday, Charlise Dunn leads the Atlantic 10 with eight on the season. She is tied for 28th nationally in total double-doubles. Prior to the 2025-26 season, Dunn had only four double doubles in her three seasons in college basketball.
Dunn is averaging 14.9 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game this season and is up to 972 career points and 486 rebounds in her career.
