Patriots Top Davidson, Extend Winning Streak

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Despite another double-double from Charlise Dunn, Atlantic 10 Conference co-leader George Mason kept up its winning ways in a 62-51 defeat of Davidson in women's basketball Wednesday night in Belk Arena.
The loss dropped Davidson to 15-8 overall and 7-3 in league play.
It's the eighth straight win for the Patriots (14-6), who improved to 9-0 and stayed even with Richmond atop the A-10 standings.
Dunn finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season, while Katie Donovan scored a team-high 18.
The Patriots utilized a 12-0 first-quarter run to get separation and never lost the lead, extending it to as many as 17 twice in the fourth quarter.
Zahirah Walton (14 points) and Kennedy Harris (12) led the Patriots, who shot 53.3 percent from 3-point range through three quarters (8-for-15).
Davidson finished with a 36-32 advantage on the glass.

Davidson will play its next two on the road, beginning with a trip to Saint Joseph's on Sunday, Feb. 1.
