Bruyndoncx, Dunn and ‘Cats Bounce Back Against VCU

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Kyra Bruyndoncx scored a game-high 18 points and Charlise Dunn (17 pts, 12 rebs) added a double-double to lead Davidson past VCU, 66-51, in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action Saturday afternoon inside Belk Arena.
The Wildcats, who finished with a 42-27 advantage on the glass, including 18 offensive, improve to 15-7 overall and 7-2 in league play, while the Rams fall to 7-14 and 3-6. Davidson's 7-2 start to Atlantic 10 play is their best since the 2018-19 season.
A sophomore from Mol, Belgium, Bruyndoncx finished 6-of-11 from the floor including five of her club's nine 3-pointers.
For Dunn, it was her eighth 10-point, 10-rebound effort of 2025-26. Katie Donovan also scored in double figures for the 'Cats with 15.
After going just 4-of-14 in the opening quarter, Davidson started to settle in offensively closing the half with a 19-8 stretch highlighted by three Bruyndoncx triples to lead 31-24 at intermission.
The 'Cats carried their momentum into the third quarter and eventually stretched the margin to as many as 15.
Daija Preston was the lone VCU player in double figures with 15.
