Wildcats Primed for Road Test at La Salle

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson Women's basketball team readies for another Atlantic 10 conference road test at La Salle Sunday afternoon.

Edina Strausz matched her career-high with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting to lead Davidson to a convincing 74-50 win over Fordham in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action Wednesday night.
The Wildcats, who shot 47.5 percent and finished with a 40-26 advantage on the glass, improved to 13-6 overall and 5-1 in Atlantic 10 play.
In addition, Davidson handed out 18 assists on 28 made field goals.
Charlise Dunn and Ines Garcia Monje also scored in double figures for the Wildcats with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
The Wildcats hold a 7-5 edge in the all-time series over the Explorers, winning three of the last five contests. Davidson took a 78-61 victory over La Salle last season inside Belk Arena. It was a historic night for the 'Cats, who say six players score in double figures, led by Kyra Bruyndoncx's 17-point performance off the bench.
The Explorers enter the game 3-3 in league action, having dropped the last three games.

Freshman Ines Garcia Monje ranks second in the conference in assist to turnover ratio at 1.59, leading the 'Cats to a third best 14.5 assists per game and fourth best 0.97 assist/turnover ratio as a team.
Garcia leads the Wildcats in total assists with 54 assists on the season, averaging 3.0 per game. At Richmond, Garcia dished out a team season-high eight assists, a feat last achieved by Millie Prior at UMass in the 2024-25 season.
EDINA DOWN LOW
Edina Strausz, the lone center on the Wildcats roster, has become one of the most efficient scorers in the A-10 this season. Her field goal percentage of .517 leads the team and ranks fifth in the A-10. In conference play, she leads the league with a .583 field goal percentage and is averaging 10.2 points per game.
The sophomore from Budapest, Hungary has tripled her playing time after her freshman season, averaging 16.0 minutes per game, making nine starts, and scoring a career-high 7.5 points per game.
