
Wildcats Claim Wire-To-Wire Win Over Loyola Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. – Katie Donovan scored a team-high 18 points and Charlise Dunn notched her fourth double-double of the season to lead the Davidson Women's basketball team to a 62-50 win over Loyola Chicago in Atlantic 10 action at Gentile Arena.
The Wildcats improve to 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play for their third straight season and move to 10-5 on the season.
Leading 13-9 after the first quarter, Davidson went on a 10-0 run to start the second quarter, outscoring the Rambler's 17-10 in the quarter and extended their lead to as many as 17 points midway through the third.
Loyola outscored the 'Cats 22-19 in the in the final 12 minutes of regulation, cutting the deficit to six points at the fourth quarter media timeout. The Wildcat defense held strong, limiting the Ramblers to two points in the final five minutes to claim a double-digit win.
Dunn totaled 13 rebounds in the contest, a season-high and the second highest mark of her career.
Edina Strausz also notched a double figure scoring effort with 12 points and four rebounds.
Donovan continued her hot shooting stretch, going 4-for-5 from deep and is shooting 52.5 percent from beyond the arc this season.
The team also recorded a season-high 16 steals in the victory with Donovan collecting five, Jasmine Timmerson swiping four and Emilie Bessell totaling three steals.
