WHITEOUT: ‘Cats Host No. 21 Purdue in Home Opener Sunday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Nate Carr Jr., the Davidson wrestling team will host No. 21 Purdue in their home opener Sunday afternoon inside John M. Belk Arena.
Prior to the match, Carr's younger brother, David, a two-time National Champion at Iowa State, along with the Wildcats' coaching staff, will host a FREE clinic, which will be followed by an autograph session with the former Cyclone.
In addition, a number of showcase matches will take place during the day.
In duals this season, sophomore Bryce Griffin (165 / 174 pounds) leads the Wildcats with a 3-1 record with his lone setback coming Friday to nationally-ranked Bryce Hepner of North Carolina.
Davidson's Cody Kirk (184 pounds) has had an impressive start to his collegiate career. The freshman started the campaign winning the freshman / sophomore division of the Southeast Open followed by a runner-up showing at the Michigan State Open.
Senior captain Tanner Peake enters ranked 32nd nationally in the latest FloWrestling poll.
