Fausz Named Assistant Wrestling Coach

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson head wrestling coach Nate Carr, Jr. announced on Tuesday that Sean Fausz has joined the program as an assistant coach.
"I'm excited to welcome Sean to our staff," commented Carr. "He brings elite-level experience as a U23 World Champion silver medalist, a four-time NCAA qualifier, and a four-time Academic All-American. Sean is a fantastic fit for our program, and we look forward to seeing the impact he will have on Davidson Wrestling."
In addition to his work at Omnivision as an Imaging System Engineer II in Santa Clara, Calif., Fausz served as an assistant coach at Cal Poly State from 2019-2022.
"I'm excited to be getting back into wrestling," Fausz said. "I'm looking forward to working with talented scholar-athletes to help build Davidson into its full potential."
Fausz captured a world silver medal in the 2018 U23 World Championships, held at Bucharest, Romania. He was also a four-time Atlantic Coast Conference finalist and captured an ACC championship in 2018 while competing for NC State as a four-time National qualifier.
A native of Alexandria, Kentucky, Fausz was a two-time state champion, NHSCA Senior National runner-up, and posted a high school record of 234-24 with 115 pins. He posted a 62-0 record en route to the state title as a junior and placed third in the state finals as a sophomore and second as a freshman.
Fausz also was a Fargo Junior Freestyle All-American, FILA Cadet national champion and FILA Cadet World Team member.
Fausz earned his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering in May 2019 from NC State with a minor in science, technology and society.
He was a four-time NWCA Academic All-American, a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a three-time team captain with the Wolfpack.
