DAVIDSON, NC – The Wildcats turned in a very solid home weekend at the Atlantic 10 Masters. In the opening round of singles, Bryson Langford defeated Mila Badics from Duquesne in straight sets and then lost a three-set marathon to Richmond's Sofia Maria Barbulescu.
In doubles, Savanna Kollock and Bryson Langford won their opening match over Duquesne's duo and then lost in a tiebreak in the semifinals.
Despite a first-round loss in singles, Kollock finished the weekend with a straight-set victory over Duquesne's Alexandra O'Brien in the consolation round.
"We had a solid weekend against the best competition in the A-10," said head coach Susanne Depka. "We had many chances in both doubles and singles to put ourselves further in the draw. There are some lessons to be learned. When ahead, continuing to keep the pressure on the opponent and stay in the present is key."
