‘Cats Take Down Wingate 70-55 in Exhibition

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's basketball team defeated Wingate 70-55 inside Belk Arena in an exhibition game Wednesday Evening.
The Wildcat defense held the Bulldogs to a 36.2 percent field goal percentage for the game and were able to pull away in fourth quarter, extending their lead out to as many as 18 (69-51) with 1:36 remaining in regulation.
Davidson went on their biggest run of the game in the second frame, scoring 11 unanswered points to take a 24-13 lead. The 'Cats made 10 three-point baskets in the contest while Wingate went 3-for-10 from beyond the arc.
Davidson will open its 2025-26 campaign at Mississippi State next Monday, Nov. 3, traveling to Starkville for a 6:30 CST tip-off.
