LAST TIME OUT | RHODE ISLAND 92, DAVIDSON 90 | JAN. 18, 2025 | RYAN CENTER
• Despite career days from Wildcats Reed Bailey and Bobby Durkin, Rhode Island topped Davidson 92-90 in Atlantic 10 action Saturday afternoon, thanks to a go-ahead 3-pointer from Sebastian Thomas with 1.3 seconds to play.
• Thomas's shot, which he lofted on the run and banked in off the glass, came seconds after a go-ahead putback from Bailey, who finished one rebound shy of a triple-double with career-highs of 30 points and 11 assists.
• Durkin added a high of 28 points, including six 3-pointers, and also pulled down eight rebounds for the Wildcats, who fell to 12-6 overall and 2-3 in the A-10.
THE LAST MEETING | SAINT JOSEPH'S 89, DAVIDSON 71 | MARCH 9, 2024 | HAGAN ARENA
• Despite a strong first half, Davidson suffered an 89-71 setback at Saint Joseph's to conclude the 2023-24 regular season a year ago.
• Reed Bailey bounced back with 19 points to lead the way for the 'Cats.
• Davidson, which started 11-of-15 from the floor, grabbed an early 26-16 lead following a Connor Kochera trey. The Hawks would respond with a run of their own to go back in front, before the 'Cats scored the last six points of the half to lead 43-38 at the break.
IT'S ALL LONDON, BABY!
• Freshman newcomer Manie Joses had quite the summer, suiting up for Great Britain at the FIBA U20 EuroBasket in July.
• The London native averaged 15.2 points per game during Great Britain Basketball's Division B four-game pool play, highlighted by a 21-point effort against Azerbaijan.
• One week later, Joses also competed in The One Finals with Jumpman23 - a tournament held in Paris to find the best one-on-one basketball players in the world.
• Joses has seen more action as the season has progressed, most recently coming off a season-best seven-point performance against Rhode Island on Jan. 21.
THE REED BAILEY OF IT ALL
• Among those returning on McKillop's squad include Preseason All-Conference Third Team selection Reed Bailey.
• Bailey scored in double figures in 21 games during his sophomore season, including 10 of the last 12 games. The forward recorded five 20-point performances and averaged 16.5 points per game over that same 12-game stretch.
• The junior big man also finished the 2023-24 campaign as one of the most consistent free throw shooters in the league, making 135 shots at the stripe (6th) and shooting 80.4 percent (10th) at the line.
• So far this season, Bailey has averaged 19.4 points per game, set a new career high with 30 points against Rhode Island and recorded eight 20-point games.
