Wildcats Defeated 2-0 by Duquesne

DAVIDSON - The Davidson women's soccer team took a 2-0 loss on the road against Duquesne Sunday.
The loss moves the Wildcats' record to 4-4-2 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic 10 competition while the Dukes improve to 7-2 on the year and 1-1 in the league.
The first half of Sunday's match was a defensive stale mate as Davidson and Duquesne entered the break knotted 0-0 with the Dukes holding a slight advantage in shots 6-5 while both squads landed three shots on goal.
Just five minutes into the second half, Duquesne ended the shutout netting a goal in the upper left corner away from Emily Smith. The Dukes went on to score an insurance goal just 12 minutes later on a similarly placed ball out of the reach of Smith.
Davidson's best shots at tallying a goal of its own were at the feet of Ella Barnes, Dakota Lyons, Charlotte Hansen and Alli Jacobson who all placed a shot on target.
Smith finished the afternoon with five saves over 90 minutes.

The Wildcats will continue their search for their first A-10 win of the season when they travel back to Pennsylvania to face La Salle 6 p.m. Sept. 26.
